Sanding and renovating wooden floors and parquet
A sole trader sands old parquet and boards back to life, levels them and lacquers or oils them. Priced per mยฒ.

Old parquet and wooden floors are often scratched, dark and damaged in places, but the timber underneath is usually still sound. You sand it back with a belt sander, finish the edges with an edger, level the floor, fill the gaps and re-lacquer or oil it. A worn-out floor becomes almost new without the cost of replacement. You charge per square metre, based on the state of the wood, the number of coats and the type of finish.
Old parquet doesn't have to go in the skip. Under the worn surface there's usually sound timber that just needs sanding back, levelling and re-lacquering or oiling โ and it looks almost new.
๐ฐRenovation is cheaper than replacement
Owners of old parquet don't want to pay for a brand-new floor when the old timber can be saved. Renovation costs a fraction, and that's what you live on. This economics quietly sends jobs your way.
