Exploding Topics

Exploding Topics is a trend discovery platform founded by Brian Dean (of Backlinko fame) and Josh Howarth, now part of Semrush. It's built for content creators, marketers, e-commerce sellers, and founders who want to jump on a topic or product before the competition does.

The tool monitors millions of data points across search engines, social media, forums, news, and e-commerce, and evaluates which topics are gaining momentum. Each trend comes with a growth chart and a status (rising, peaking, stable), so you can tell whether a topic is worth pursuing.

You can browse and filter a large database of trends by category and growth rate, save interesting topics to projects, track trending startups and products, read regular reports, and set alerts for when a trend starts to explode. There's also an API for data integration.
