PlusMarket

PlusMarket is a Hungarian discount chain of stores built on a simple idea: permanently low prices and a practical everyday assortment in a store just around the corner. The shelves mainly hold drugstore and cleaning products, cosmetics, paper goods, shelf-stable food like coffee, pasta, bottled water, and sweets, organic food, plus seasonal and gift items. Instead of giant halls it bets on the neighborhood-shop format people walk to. It differs from an independent corner shop in that the power of a chain stands behind the counter: a unified brand, joint purchasing, and prices that keep pace with the big players.

The network operates only in Hungary — it has no stores in the Czech Republic or Slovakia and doesn't offer licenses there. The partner brings their own or rented store with sufficient sales area, a warehouse, and back-of-house facilities into the partnership; the team, daily operations, and relationships with the neighborhood remain their responsibility. The head office, in turn, supplies everything that makes a shop part of a chain: the brand, store design and fit-out, the assortment from a central warehouse with online ordering and free goods preparation, delivery, pricing, promo flyers and social media, a POS system with support, and a loyalty programme. It's a closed franchise system, but not a turn-key store — you're not buying a finished shop, you're buying the backing that makes yours competitive.
