SumUp is a European fintech company headquartered in London that focuses on card payments for small and local businesses. Millions of merchants use its terminals in more than 30 countries, including Czechia and Poland. It aims exactly where classic bank terminals don't pay off — markets, small cafés, workshops, and tradespeople working in the field.

It works simply: you register online, buy a compact card reader as a one-off purchase (or activate payments directly on your phone), and you can accept contactless payments by card, phone, or watch. There is no monthly fee — only a low percentage is taken from each transaction, and the money then lands in your bank account. You send receipts to customers by email or SMS.
