Lemon Squeezy is a Merchant of Record platform for digital creators and small indie SaaS projects. It's backed by Stripe, which acquired the service in 2024. It's ideal for solo creators, developers and small teams who want to sell e-books, templates, software, subscriptions or digital downloads without drowning in tax admin.

The idea is simple: you upload your product and set a price, Lemon Squeezy gives the customer a beautiful checkout, collects the payment, automatically calculates and remits VAT and sales tax based on the buyer's country, and issues the invoice. It acts as the seller toward both customers and tax authorities, so all the tax burden sits with them, not you.
