Speed Queen

Speed Queen is a self-service laundromat concept from a long-established American maker of commercial laundry machines. It is a fully automated, cashless, staff-free store placed in densely populated urban neighbourhoods, near shopping centres, student districts and rental-heavy areas. Customers wash and dry their laundry themselves, pay by card or app, and the whole operation runs seven days a week with nobody on site.

In Europe the model works as a 'licensed store' partnership rather than a classic royalty franchise. The head office or national representative supplies a complete turnkey package: catchment and demographic analysis, site-selection guidance, full store design, machine supply and installation, branding, payment and monitoring technology, a written business plan with projections, and ongoing marketing and operational support. The operator provides the premises lease, the capital (often part-financed through partner banks or leasing), day-to-day oversight and local promotion. Crucially, there is no entry fee and no monthly royalty, and the operator keeps full ownership and all of the revenue.
