Roche Bobois

Roche Bobois is a French high-end furniture and interior-design house, internationally known for bold, designer-led collections often created with name fashion designers and contemporary artists. It sits at the upper end of the home market, where the showroom sells not just furniture but a complete aesthetic for the home. What sets it apart is the pairing of distinctive, made-in-Europe design with an international retail brand that carries cachet, letting the operator command premium prices an unbranded furniture store could never reach.

In the franchise model, headquarters owns the design, the collections, the manufacturing relationships and the marketing; the franchisee owns and runs a showroom dedicated exclusively to Roche Bobois — HQ considers this a necessary condition for the quality presentation of the collections. HQ supplies the exclusive product range, the brand identity and presentation standards, collection launches and seasonal catalogues, design know-how and the ongoing support of an international group; the operator provides the local capital, secures and fits out the showroom to brand standard, hires and leads a knowledgeable sales and interior-advice team, and drives local clienteling, project sales and after-sale service. The form of territorial arrangement is determined by the contract. In Czechia, the brand does not own a showroom — the assortment comes in through an independent retailer — and it does not operate in Slovakia at all; negotiations would therefore go through the French headquarters.
