As a franchisee you don't open a haulage company with your own truck fleet — you open a forwarding office that works purely as a broker: it matches shippers' cargo with carriers and earns on the spread between what the client pays and what the carrier is paid. It is essentially a branded partner network for the forwarding sector, where no truck is ever bought or run.

Headquarters supplies a proven business model and a step-by-step playbook for launching and running the office (the "Northbook" operating manual), a proprietary IT/CRM platform with access to freight exchanges and cargo-insurance tooling, brand and national marketing support, and structured training in sales, client acquisition and team management — even for partners with no logistics background. It helps you get the office off the ground, recruit and train forwarding staff, and you can lease computers and equipment directly from HQ instead of buying them. Your job is to run the office as an active business: hire and lead a team of forwarders, win and service shipper clients, build carrier relationships and report performance to HQ.
