Underfloor heating flushing: the craft starts with diagnosis, not the flushing pump

You offer diagnosis and cleaning of water-based underfloor heating in houses and flats: flushing individual loops with a flushing unit, chemical cleaning, refilling with treated water and inhibitor, bleeding air, balancing flows at the manifold and fitting a sludge filter. The problem is most common in older systems where the pipes have no oxygen barrier. Oxygen permeates the pipe wall, metal parts of the system corrode and sludge settles in the loops. In warm, slow-moving water a slimy bacterial film adds to it. Heat pumps are pushing demand up: heating manufacturers tie warranties to heating water quality and sensitive heat exchangers can’t stand sludge. The catch: a cold loop doesn’t have to mean sludge. Often it’s air, a closed or badly set valve on the manifold or a faulty actuator. Whoever flushes without diagnosis takes money for work that didn’t help. And used flushing water with chemicals doesn’t belong in the garden or the storm drain.
